Burbank Firefighters gathered Friday to pay respects to James Sheffield former President of Firefighters Local 778. Funeral service was held at St. Roberts Bellarmine Church were fellow firefighter saluted his flag draped coffin being carried by his sons, including Bob Sheffield, who recently retired fromt he Burbank Fire Department. While President of Local 778 Jim used every way possible to negotiate with the city when it came to better pay and reasonable hours and fair treatment. He was devoted father to Jim, Rosemary, Bob, Margaret and Helen, and grandfather to 13 grandchildren. His is also survived by his brothers Robert and Jack. His wife Charlotte preceded him in death in 2004. Graveside services were held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, where he received a military service.
