A memorial service for Robert L. “Lonnie” Melton will be held on Saturday, July 28. Mr. Melton died July 18, after a brief illness. He was 65 years old.
Mr. Melton was born in Glendale, and had been a life-long Burbank resident. He graduated from John Burroughs High School in 1965, and was in the school choir. A veteran of the U.S. Army from 1967-1969, he served in Vietnam.
As a teenager, Mr. Melton began working with his father, Robert S. Melton, in his dad’s sign business, S.O.S. Neon. He was the original owner of Melton Signs. He made banners for Burbank On Parade.
Mr. Melton is survived by his wife, Alanna; his two daughter, Holly Aispuro and Lesley Victorine; sons-in-law David Aispuro and Chris Victorine; and his grandchildren, Carter, Kylie, and Kayin Aispuro. He is also survived by his mother, Dorris Melton; sisters, Laura Pomeroy and Linda Melton Damarjian; a brother, Les Melton; brother-in-law George Damarjian; and sister-in-law, Vicky Melton. His father preceded him in death.
The memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Church where Mr. Melton was a member. The service will begin at 3 p.m. on July 28. The church is located at 438 E. Harvard Rd., Burbank
