During the late night hours of Monday evening, a semi-truck accidentally struck the front door area of the Burbank Macy’s store on San Fernando Blvd. and Cypress Street.

Burbank Police responded to find a truck and trailer sitting up on the curb at the Macy’s storefront. They immediately requested Burbank Fire Department to respond.
Burbank Firefighters arrived on scene and poured absorbent on leaking oils and fluids. The firefighters checked for damage inside the store and found minimal. As a precaution, firefighters removed some of the damage slate material that was struck and a building inspector was called.
Police officers on scene reported that the driver had stopped in front of IKEA and got out to check where her delivery was suppose to go and the trucks’ parking brake might not have been set properly. The truck and trailer then rolled a couple of hundred feet and came to rest on the curb in the storefront.
The store received damage to the slate material and a concrete stop. The damage to the truck was unknown but it was going to have to be towed by a commercial towing firm to a repair station.
There were no injuries and the incident occurred on private property so the driver was not cited.
