People seem to like to play games and for four people, their attempt to get games from Target landing them in the Burbank Jail.
This past weekend, Burbank Police were called out to Target in Burbank four different times by store security after two people from Los Angeles, one from North Hollywood and one from Glendale were caught trying to steal merchandise.
The following accounts were told to Burbank Police by Target security personnel:
Friday, November 28:
Daaron Cowan, (20) of Los Angeles was turned over to Burbank Police after the man entered the store and selected a Play station 4 game console worth approximately $400.00. The suspect then exited the store without paying for the item. He was stopped by store security and was detained. A citizens arrest was completed and the suspected was arrested for petty theft.
About two hours later, Hayk Gabrielyn (28) of Los Angeles was taken into custody after he entered the store empty handed and selected a Play Station 4 Game console. He proceeded to customer service to return the Play Station 4 for cash using a receipt form a previous purchase for such a console. The suspect was given a refund in the amount of $434.91 for the Play Station 4. Gabrielyn was detained upon exiting for theft since he had not purchased the play station he returned. He was arrested for theft by BPD per a Citizen’s Arrest.
Saturday, November 29:
Kenny Garcia (21) of Glendale was observed by store security selecting a Nintendo DS game console that did not have a security sensor. The suspect exited the store without paying for the item, and was detained. He was arrested for theft by BPD per a Citizen’s Arrest.
Sunday, November 30:
Luis Resendiz (21) of North Hollywood became the fourth person to grab a game unit. The suspect was observed by store security selecting a Play Station 4 game console and exiting the store without paying for the item. The suspect was detained by store security for theft. They signed a Citizen’s Arrest form and the suspect was arrested for the theft by BPD.
