Skateboarder Gets Wheels Clipped After Burglary Spree

Police responded to a call from a citizen around 1 a.m. in the 2800 block of N. Glenoaks Boulevard of a possible window smash and burglary of a business and were able to put an end to a crime spree that covered several nights.  The alert citizen gave a description of the suspect who matched the report that police believe may have been seen on a skateboard the night before after another similar type crime.

Police arrested Sun Valley resident Chad Shillinglaw (18 years-old) for burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia along with a female, age 17, who had been reported missing. The female juvenile denied any involvement in the previous burglaries and was cited and released to her parent.

Police said that during an interview with the suspect, he admitted to committing additional commercial burglaries earlier last night and during the week. One of the last businesses struck was Hill Street Cafe where it was reported that a bottle of wine was taken.

Burbank Police wanted to thank the community member who called to report the unusual activity which put an end to this spree and wanted to encourage citizens to be aware of anything unusual and immediately report the suspicious activities and circumstances.
