Tired but excited after very long flights, the athletes arrived at Woodbury North Campus well past 11:00 p.m. Their flights arrived at Los Angeles International Airport around 2:00 p.m. and it took hours for them to go through customs and get checked in.

The members of the Zimbabwe team arrived knowing their luggage that was lost hopefully will arrive by morning including some of their athletic equipment.

They were welcomed by a slew of volunteers that greeted them and help them get checked in.

Most were not asleep before a malfunctioning fire alarm rang and they were asked to evacuate until Los Angeles City Firefighters could check the buildings.

In the morning they will have breakfast at Fire Station 11 hosted by Burbank Firefighters Local 778. They will then proceed to ceremonies at City Hall when the Flame of Hope will arrive at 9:00 a.m. The community can greet and welcome them during those ceremonies.
