International Day is a cherished tradition at the Burbank Catholic school, bringing together its school families to highlight the rich history and customs of their cultures through dress, performances, and food.

The celebration will begin with a morning assembly featuring a variety of cultural performances by students, and sometimes their families. Performances will include singing, dancing, martial arts, prayer, and a variety of other cultural demonstrations, giving students the opportunity to proudly showcase their heritage or share a culture they have studied.

Later in the day, St. Finbar families will help bring the world to campus through an International Potluck Lunch, where families bring in food that represents their family’s heritage.

“International Day is one of the most joyful celebrations of the year because it reflects who we are as a school community,” said Principal Rosselle Azar. “Our students take pride in sharing their cultures, and it is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to learn from one another and celebrate the diversity that strengthens our school.”

“Our families bring such incredible traditions, stories, and flavors to this day,” said PTO President Joseph Mancuso. “International Day truly shows the heart of our community in which parents, students, teachers, and staff come together to celebrate the cultures that make St. Finbar so special.”
