A woman was arrested for possession of fraudulent access cards and possession of methamphetamine Tuesday afternoon, February 4, at the Marriott Residence Inn located at 321 S. First Street. Amy Martinez, a 33-year-old resident of La Mesa, CA, was first detained by police and then arrested after a search turned up meth and the fraudulent cards, such as credit or debit cards. Police were not specific as to what type of cards were discovered.
Burbank Police had been called to the Residence Inn by hotel staff after another suspect, a Filipino male, age 25, used a stolen credit card at the hotel, according to Sgt. Darin Ryburn of the Burbank Police Department. Police are still searching for the male suspect in connection with identity theft charges.
Martinez had remained at the hotel while the male suspect, her boyfriend, had left the premises. She was arrested and booked at the Burbank Jail. Her bail is set at $20,000 and she is due in court tomorrow, February 6.
