Burbank High School Auditorium – Saturday, November 9, 7p – Ron Jones brings his Influence Jazz Orchestra to the Burbank High School auditorium one night only to headline An Evening of Jazz, a jumping jazz program to also feature the Burbank and John Burroughs High School Jazz Ensembles. Proceeds from this one night event of high energy jazz music, from swing to contemporary, directly benefits the music education programs at both Burbank and John Burroughs High Schools.
Led by Burbank resident, and Emmy-nominated Hollywood Film and TV composer Ron Jones (Family Guy), the Influence Jazz Orchestra is an ensemble of some of L.A.’s top session and jazz musicians, whose goal is to bring their high in-studio performance level and creative energy to live audiences. The nineteen-piece band pays tribute to the greatest jazz artists and celebrates their impact and influence on American and World music. For this very special event, the Influence Jazz Orchestra will donate their time in the name of music education.
Sets by the Burbank and John Burroughs Jazz Ensembles will showcase some our city’s most talented student jazz musicians. Sharing their enthusiasm for one of America’s most lively, colorful, entertaining and important music traditions, students will showcase not only their collaborative band skills at finger-snapping tunes, but also deft improvisational talent.
Hosted in combined efforts by the Burbank and John Burroughs Instrumental Music Associations, this night of toe-tapping jazz offers a rare opportunity to witness and enjoy some of Burbank’s best young musicians swing on the same stage with acclaimed music industry artists.
Tickets at the door for An Evening of Jazz are $10, Students and Seniors $5, all ticket proceeds to benefit the BHS and JBHS music programs.
