Firefighters Knock Down House Fire on Chandler

Firefighters were quick to the scene on the 4300 block of Chandler on Saturday, February 23 when called for a possible attic fire in a residence.

Engine 12 was first on scene after receiving the call at 5:35 pm and reported seeing heavy smoke coming from the attic. They went to work fast and were able to contain the fire to the attic and had a knockdown by 5:51 pm.

There were no injuries to the public but a firefighter had to be taken to a local hospital after suffering a fall while battling the blaze. He was released from the hospital later that night.

The fire caused $200,000 in damage to the structure and approximately $5,000 to the contents inside. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Three Injured In Burbank House Fire

Burbank Fire and Police received a call at 1:10 p.m. Monday, July 20 to the 1300 block of Chandler of a possible house fire with two elderly people trapped inside.

Police arrived on scene first and helped the residents from their home with neighbors assisting. Both people inside the home required medical assistance along with another person on scene. Three paramedic ambulances were dispatched to the scene and transported the victims to a local hospital with smoke inhalation.

Once arriving on scene, firefighters saw smoke coming from the front of the house and made quick work of the fire. The fire was mostly contained to a laundry room and the flames were knocked down within 10 minutes.

Three Burbank Police officers were also transported to Saint Joseph Medical Center for smoke inhalation. They were treated and released after being checked out. They were the first inside the house to rescue the victims.

Firefighters at the scene put damage at $10,000 to contents and $50,000 to the structure.

No firefighters were injured. Burbank Animal Shelter was called to the scene to take four dogs for safe keeping.

The cause of the fire was being investigated but appeared to be accidental in nature.

Cars Get Stacked Up In Front Of Edison Elementary School

A Traffic Accident occurred just north of Keystone and Chandler next to Edison Elementary School.  The Lexus sedan turned the corner and veered into the oncoming lanes of Keystone riding up the side of the white 1980’s Honda Accord.  The driver of the Lexus, as seen in the photo above, is being checked out by Burbank Police Officers.  The teenage driver of the Accord is seen in the photo distraught  and walking across the street.
