It was the ‘Party of the Century’. It was the 100th anniversary of the City of Burbank Incorporation into a city and two years of planning went into the event. The Burbank Chamber of Commerce’s Gala was held this past weekend at The Sheraton Universal’s Main Ballroom with headliners Debbie Reynolds and Jo Ann Worley. The guests celebrated the Theme ‘Oh Burbank ! The First 100 years’,
Debbie Reynolds told of her days of going to Roosevelt Elementary School and Burbank High School along with John Burroughs, and being Miss Burbank while Jo Anne Worley recalled her ‘Laugh In Days’.
The several hundred guests in attendance enjoyed a silent auction and cocktails prior to the evenings five-course meal. The evenings show included dancing and a toast to Burbank’s 100 year centennial celebration. The crowd also got to meet Inez Harries, who along with her identical twin sister Venice Shaw, recently celebrated their 100th birthday
