UMe Credit Union Sponsors BTAC / Goodwill Donation Drive

Burbank Temporary Aid Center is doing a donation drive with Goodwill in the UMe parking lot, on Saturday, June 18 from 8:30am – noon.

Members of the Burbank community are invited to bring gently used clothing, accessories, electronics, e-media and household items to donate at the event. BTAC will earn money for every bin full of donated items. So, participating in this event helps TWO amazing organizations.

People can simply drive up and BTAC/Goodwill volunteers will unload their donation goods for them… It makes the actual act of donating super easy!

Ume Credit Union Hosts Food Drive To Help The Hungry

This May, UMeHelps will, for the fifth consecutive year, conduct its annual food drive benefitting BTAC (Burbank Temporary Aid Center).

In the spirit of “people helping people” (a cornerstone of the credit union social mission), UMe is collecting canned goods to support Burbank’s less fortunate. Donations benefit the Burbank Temporary Aid Center (BTAC), and are accepted May 2 – May 31, 2016.

The credit union is hosting the food drive through UMeHelps, an initiative that allows its members and the Burbank community at large to give back to local charities and individuals in need. UMeHelps supports local organizations with food and clothing drives, pet adoptions and fundraising efforts. Additionally, it promotes awareness of local programs in need of community support.

UMe is happy to support the BTAC, which has been providing short-term emergency assistance to the working poor, crime victims, seniors and the homeless since 1974.

To participate in the UMeHelps BTAC food drive, please bring nonperishable food items to the credit union during regular business hours throughout the month of May. Red donation tubs will be available throughout the lobby. Visit umecreditunion.com for a complete list of acceptable donation items, in the news & announcements section.

UMe is located at 3000 W. Magnolia Blvd. in the Magnolia Park neighborhood of Burbank.

UMe Credit Union Helps to Spread Holiday Joy

As a Credit Union, UMe’s mission includes “people helping people.” So, for the second year in a row, UMeHelps will be collecting toys and books for Burbank Children 16 and under to make their holiday season just a little brighter.

UMeHelps is supporting Santa’s Room, a Burbank Temporary Aid Center (BTAC) program that collects toys, books and games for Burbank children who otherwise would not have presents to look forward to on Christmas morning. The program helps to fulfill children’s Christmas wishes and helps parents who are under financial strain provide joy to their children. Local parents who request assistance with Christmas are able to visit Santa’s Room to “shop” for their children and chose from the donated gifts.

UMeHelps is an initiative that allows UMe Credit Union, its members, and the Burbank community at large give back to local charities and individuals who are in need of help.

UMeHelps has supported local organizations in need by conducting food and clothing drives, pet adoptions, and participating in fundraising efforts – in addition to promoting awareness of local programs that people in the community can help support.

To participate in the UMeHelps Santa’s Room Toy Drive, please bring new, unwrapped toys to the credit union from November 1-December 6, 2013. Visit umecreditunion.com for a link to a complete list of acceptable donation items – just go to the “news and announcements section” on the home page.

We look forward to seeing you at the credit union and helping spread Santa’s Gifts!

UMe Credit Union Helps Our Best Friends

At UMe Credit Union, we love our pets – and want all of our friends to have safe and loving homes. That’s why this Friday and Saturday, July 26th and 27th, UMeHelps will host a Mobile Adoption event in conjunction with the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center in Mission Hills. A variety of dogs and cats will be available for immediate adoption at just $20 for dogs and $10 for cats!

UMe Credit Union created UMeHelps to provide resources to local non-profit organizations in order to foster greater community involvement and to help those who need a little extra assistance. We’re a little pet-crazy here at UMe, so it makes sense that we wanted to give our community an opportunity to provide loving homes to a number of wonderful dogs and cats.

Our partner for the Mobile Adoption event is the Best Friends Los Angeles Pet Adoption Center in Mission Hills and the theme is “Love Comes in All Sizes.” Our goal is to introduce to Burbank awesome pets of every size and help determine which would be the best fit for each adopter’s lifestyle.

To see these adorable pets (and potential best friends!), stop by UMe Credit Union between the hours of 3-7pm on Friday and 11-3pm on Saturday. We should have between 15 to 20 dogs of all sizes, plus 3 to 6 adult cats and approximately 20 kittens. All of the animals will be up-to-date on shots, and micro-chipped, as well as fixed. If you adopt, you will receive a free bag of food and 30 days of pet insurance. All you need to do is complete a short adoption survey and sign an adoption contract. It’s that easy! Best of all, if the adoption isn’t the right match, you can return and re-adopt a better match.
