Three unknown suspects attempted to steal property from Band Pro Film and Digital for the second time this year. Officers responded to a call from the business’ alarm company at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, to the film equipment warehouse located at 3403 Pacific Avenue.

BPD New Police Car -2When police arrived, they saw a two-foot by three-foot hole cut into a roll-up door on the side of the building and a white cargo van parked next to the hole, according to Sgt. Darin Ryburn of the Burbank Police Department.

The suspects punched the door lock and the ignition on the van and stole it from a business next door to the film equipment warehouse, he added.

Police reviewed security video and saw three suspects clad in dark clothing at the scene. It is not known if they were male or female.

Two suspects entered the business and cut additional holes in walls to enter secure areas, continued Ryburn. On the video, police saw the suspects move items out the hole cut in the roll-up door and the third suspect load the items on the van.

However, something alerted the three suspects and they all suddenly took off and fled on foot, jumping over a six-foot high wall, said Ryburn. They left the van and the property – large, professional film and video camera lenses – at the scene.

There is no further information on the attempted burglary at this time. Band Pro Film and Digital was burglarized earlier this year in what owners reported as a “huge financial loss,” according to this report.
