Burbank Firefighters and Paramedics worked feverishly to free a trapped pedestrian who was standing at the base of the 3800 W Alameda Ave. “Disney” building at Kenwood Street, Kenwod Street late Thursday afternoon.
The accident occurred in the intersection of Alameda Street and Kenwood Street and sent both cars up onto the sidewalk. One of the cars struck two pedestrians, trapping one of them between the hood of the car and the wall. The man, who suffered traumatic injuries to his leg, was transported by ambulance to the trauma center at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills. The other pedstrian was also take to the same hospital.
A passenger in the car was also trapped in the vehicle. Firefighters had to cut the person free from the car before transporting them to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.
The incident required a Fire Engine, two Truck Companies, and all three of Burbank’s Rescue Ambulances along with a Battalion Chief. Burbank Police blocked the streets around the accident scene.
The names of the drivers involved and the victims have not yet been released by police. The accident remains under investigation.
