Two men were arrested in separate  incidents this weekend.

The first incident took place at Jefferies and Manning at about 7:10 Saturday evening. Burbank Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a car for a tinted windows violation.  During a consent search of the car, officers recovered suspected narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia.  When the officer was going to place handcuffs on the suspect (who was a passenger in the car), he turned and engaged the officer in a struggle, refusing to allow the handcuffs to be placed on him.  After a couple of minutes, the officers were able to successfully handcuff and detain the suspect.  The officer and suspect sustained minor abrasions as a result of the physical altercation.

Arrested was Ramon Saydah, 41, of Burbank.  He was booked for possession of a controlled substance, , possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, and resisting arrest.   He is being held in-lieu of $20,000 bail.

He will be arraigned on January 23, Burbank Superior Court.

In the second incident, a man was arrested for a weapons violation according to a Burbank Police report.

Rennie Quesada, 33, of Sylmar, was arrested around 6;35 p.m. Saturday  near the intersection of First St.and Magnolia Blvd.

An officer stopped a car for a traffic violation.  While speaking to the driver (Quesada), he admitted to having marijuana in the car.  A consent search resulted in the recovery of the marijuana and a canister of tear gas.  After speaking with the suspect, the officers determined that he was  not allowed to legally possess the tear gas due to a prior felony conviction.

He was arrested for 22810(a) of the California Penal Code .  He is being held in-lieu of $20,000 bail.  He will be arraigned on January 23, 2013 at the Burbank Superior Court.
