Two Probation Compliance Checks Net Arrests


On Thursday, April 24, Burbank police arrested three individuals during two separate probation compliance checks in the city.

BPD New Police Car -2At 7:00 a.m. Thursday, police went to check on Alexander Radev, a 21-year-old resident of Burbank, at his home on the 600 block of E. Magnolia Boulevard.

“During the search of the suspect’s room, several items were located with heroin residue on them,” said Sgt. Darin Ryburn of the Burbank Police Department. “In addition, a small amount of marijuana was located.”

Police also found a .s8 caliber round of ammunition in Radev’s room. Radev was arrested for a violating the terms of his probation because of the narcotics and ammunition found in his room, Ryburn added.

Radev was arrested on charges for being a felon in possession of ammunition and drug paraphernalia and is being held without bail in L.A. County Jail and is due in court today, April 28.

At 10:30 a.m. that same day, police went to a residence on the 1300 block of Orchard Drive to check on Stephen Townsend, a 46-year-old resident of Burbank.

Officers found Townsend and a female, later identified as Sarah Anguiano, a 25-year-old from Lancaster, sleeping in a converted garage, according to Ryburn.

As officers contacted Townsend, they located a small bag of suspected methamphetamine in his wallet. He was arrested for possession of the drug and his bail was set at $10,000. He is being held in L.A. County Jail and due in court today, April 28.

As officers talked with Anguiano, they discovered several drug paraphernalia items, added Ryburn. She was arrested for misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession, booked at the Burbank Jail, cited and released for a future court date.

“These checks are conducted on routinely throughout the year to ensure all of those living in our city under the PRCS act, those that have been released from prison on an early release program, are in compliance with all of their probation/parole conditions,” said Ryburn.
