Classic cars, glowing jack-o’-lanterns, larger-than-life spiders and trunks overflowing with Halloween candy are rolling into Magnolia Park! UMe Credit Union is bringing back its fourth annual Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 23, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., transforming its parking lot at 3000 W. Magnolia Blvd. into a festive gathering of decorated classic cars and costumed trick-or-treaters.
The neighborhood tradition puts a uniquely Burbank spin on trick-or-treating, swapping front porches for the trunks of spectacularly decorated classic cars.
And these aren’t just any cars.
Local classic car enthusiasts go all out for the occasion, transforming their vintage rides into rolling Halloween masterpieces. Picture giant spiders creeping across chrome grilles, glowing-eyed skeletons riding shotgun, spooky skeleton dogs standing guard and eerie purple lights illuminating vintage sedans. From candy-filled trunks to cobweb-covered trucks serving treats from witches’ cauldrons, every car brings its own personality, creativity and a little Halloween mischief.
The result? An unforgettable evening where kids can trick-or-treat from car to car, parents can admire an incredible collection of classic automobiles, and neighbors can enjoy a little Halloween magic together.
“There’s something really special about seeing our parking lot filled with families, kids in costumes and these incredible classic cars,” said Anita Hutchinson, Chief Marketing Officer of UMe Credit Union. “Our car owners put so much heart and creativity into their decorations, and watching the kids discover each one is just the best! To me, being a community credit union means showing up for our neighbors in ways that matter. Sometimes that’s helping someone reach a financial goal, and sometimes it’s filling our parking lot with classic cars and Halloween candy!”
Two local food trucks will also be on-site, with delicious options available for purchase.
Go Fusion N Grill will offer its signature blend of Asian, Mexican and American flavors, with favorites like teriyaki quesadillas and carne asada fries. Little trick-or-treaters can enjoy kid-friendly options, including burgers, quesadillas and tacos, each served with fries.
And because no Halloween celebration is complete without something sweet, Sure Good Soft Serve will be dishing up their delicious soft serve ice cream!
With Halloween still a week away, UMe’s Trunk or Treat gives families an extra opportunity to show off their costumes, fill their candy bags and celebrate the season together. Costumes are encouraged for kids and grown-ups alike, and the creatively decorated cars provide plenty of picture-perfect moments.
Best of all, admission and trick-or-treating are completely free and open to everyone! Food and ice cream will be available for purchase. No membership required. Just bring your family, your Halloween spirit and a bag for all that candy!
