Victim Awakes To Suspected Burglar In His Home, BPD Responds And Makes Arrest

At 9:52 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, Burbank Police responded to the 1500 block of Hollywood Way on a residential burglary call. The male victim had been asleep and was wakened by the noise of his dog barking, to find an unknown female going through his closet. The man confronted the woman and she fled the residence with his iPad.

After Burbank Police arrived and searched the area for the suspect, the victim remembered he recognized the suspect from the neighborhood; he recognized her leaving a nearby apartment building while the Police were still investigating on scene.

The suspect, Burbank resident Andrea Dergan, 47, was detained. BPD Officers were given permission to search her apartment, and the victim’s stolen iPad was recovered.   Dergan was booked for residential burglary and her bail was set at $50,000.
