The honors and recognition continue for Burroughs High’s super-sophomore Emily Virtue, whose sensational season continued as she placed eighth in a time of 18 minutes and 23 seconds at the 37th Annual Footlocker West Regional Cross-Country Meet at Mount San Antonio College on Saturday.
With Virtue’s impressive finish, she qualified for the Footlocker National Cross-Country Meet in San Diego at Morley Field in Balboa Park on Dec. 12.
Getting invited to participate at the prestigious Footlocker National Meet is an accomplishment in itself considering that only the top 10 qualify.
