Burbank City Hall was the center of the 6 o’clock news on stations 2,4,7,9, and 11 as crews with reporters came out to watch the protestors against Walmart make their statements prior to the City Council meeting. Approximately 30 people showed up including kids and babies. After the news crews departed the protestors went inside City Council Chambers to speak during Public Comment. As long as Walmart complies with existing laws and the business permits that control the property, there is little the City Council can do legally. There was no agenda item relating to Walmart on the agenda. This past week Walmart has voiced that their plans to move into the former Great Outdoors, located in the Empire Center.
