Weekend Car Classic Attracts Twenty Thousand Car Enthusiasts

Approximately 20,000 people attended the seventh annual Burbank Downtown Car Classic on Saturday, August 4. Car enthusiasts strolled six blocks of San Fernando Boulevard between Angeleno and The Burbank Town Center, viewing more than 200 cars, motorcycles and other wheeled vehicles.

Winners from this years show included :

BEST IN SHOW: Kevin Thyme, 1964 Lincoln Continental

BEST MODIFIED VEHICLE: Olen Nelson, 1966 Shelby Mustang

BEST CUSTOM VEHICLE: David Zisovic, 2015 Ford Mustang

BEST CLASSIC VEHICLE: Richard Jacobus, 1940 Ford Coupe

Vehicles on display included those used in films provided by Vehicle Effects, the Television Motion Picture Car Club, West Coast Customs, Movie Machines and Unique Twist.

A special Red Carpet Expo dedicated to famous cars from film and television included numerous automobiles designed by Vehicle Effects and driven by the likes of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Paul Walker from 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), Fast and Furious 4 (2009), Furious 6 (2013) and The Fate of the Furious (2017.) The Mustang used by robot superhero Barricade Decepticon from the Transformers franchise was also on display.

Custom cars designed by celebrity automotive creator Ryan Friedlinghaus and his Burbank-based team at West Coast Customs lined the streets, as well as a wide selection of exotic, classic and collector cars carefully restored by vehicle owners and representing the best in Southern California car culture.
