Brian Arzate is the first Burroughs soccer player to receive this honor since Jeff Honicky in 2000.

“I am very happy that Brian received this honor. He had a tremendous season for us,” Burroughs Coach Mike Kodama said. “He came to play everyday and was our field general. He ran the team and set the tempo for us. He led the team in attack, often making the first pass to get us started and he led our team on defense, making the plays to stop the other team or hustling back to help his teammates.
“Brian was our engine. Even more than this, Brian is a true leader and an example of all that is great in high school sports. He put his heart and soul into this team and it showed in our performance. We are very proud of Brian.”
