One of my favorite spots in Burbank for a delicious dinner and a good drink is Wokcano. Not your typical restaurant, this Asian fusion restaurant has normal seating and bar seating, making it the perfect combination of restaurant and nightlife.
I went just before 7 p.m. on a Saturday, so it was still Happy Hour. Happy Hour at Wokcano is really worth it. I had the $4 house Cabernet to drink, and my group picked a few different appetizers, like vegetable egg rolls and garlic brussel sprouts.
Let me start by saying I never used to eat brussel sprouts. Ever. However, since I tried the garlic brussel sprouts at Wokcano, they’ve been a staple at my house. We make them all the time. I try and recreate what Wokcano does, but it is impossible. Wokcano’s brussel sprouts are just so crispy and bursting with flavor.
I never used to think of Wokcano as a typical nightlife spot. However, the last few times I’ve been, the bar has been packed with young clientele. The bar area is always bustling with people, and the drinks are always good. Wokcano is also open until 2 a.m., so that may be the reason for the younger crowd.
Something that really stands out to me is the friendliness of the waiters and waitresses. I’ve only ever sat in the bar area, but the staff is really incredible and they always love to strike up a conversation with the patrons.
As my search for Burbank nightlife continues, I think Wokcano definitely stands out. The food, drinks and friendly conversation make it a nightlife favorite.
