Two women were arrested Sunday after taking their small children into Macy’s with their stroller and placing merchandise in it without paying for it around 8 pm on Sunday evening.
Vartui Avetisyan (30) or Van Nuys and Elina Tamazyan (30) of Glendale were taking into custody after police said that they were seen by store security selecting placing kid’s clothes and dishes into used Macy’s bags and concealing them in the stroller.
Both subjects failed to pay for the items when they exited that were valued at about $1000.00.
Both women were detained by store security and arrested. The children were taken in to protective custody and later released to the custody of family members.
Both women are scheduled to appear in court on October 23.
