Suppan, who was with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2006 when they won the World Series against the Tigers and was the National League’s Championship Series MVP against the Mets that same year, talked with the campers for about 30 minutes.  He talked about what it takes to be a champion and successful not only on the field, but also off the field and in the classroom.

He stressed the importance of being a great teammate and supportive of others as well as education and striving to be the best you can be everyday.

He then took questions from the kids ranging from his favorite team he played for to the biggest moment of his playing career.

Suppan has played professional baseball in 20 seasons, winning 140 games and struck out 1,390 hitters.
