The Burbank Community YMCA has launched its Strong Today, Stronger Tomorrow capital campaign.  Campaign Chair, Vic Georgino, put it this way, “No other organization helps families grow over time the way the Y does.  It seems like everybody’s got a Y story.”

Strengthening the foundation of the community is the Y’s cause.  The YMCA has launched an effort to raise $3 million to meet several challenges:  an epidemic of childhood obesity affecting over 30% of children, an aging population with unique needs that must be addressed if they are to maintain their health and independence and a critical need to provide young people with meaningful opportunities to become engaged and productive citizens at a time of severe budget cutbacks in our schools.

Joining Mr. Georgino on the volunteer Campaign Cabinet leadership team are:  Ray Adams, Roger Koll , Lisa Rawlins, Darrell Taylor and Toluca Lake residents: Donn Rediger, Don St. Clair, and Tim Von der Ahe.

“This campaign will help us meet life-changing needs and make a real difference for the people of Burbank.  I’m proud to be a part of this dynamic team,” said Georgino.  To learn more about this community effort, visit www.burbankymca.org
