Burbank students who love to cook, or want to learn, will have the opportunity to sharpen their kitchen skills this summer at the My Class Can Cook Summer Culinary Camp 2026, hosted by longtime Luther Burbank Middle School Culinary Arts teacher Lisa Raluy.
The hands-on culinary camp will take place in Luther Burbank Middle School’s kitchen classroom and is designed specifically for current 5th through 8th grade students who are interested in learning how to cook from scratch in a fun and supportive environment.
Raluy, who has spent years teaching culinary arts to Burbank students, created the camp to give kids a chance to explore cooking beyond the classroom while building confidence in the kitchen. The program focuses on real cooking techniques using fresh ingredients.
“No artificial colors, flavors or box mixes are ever used in my kitchen,” Raluy says, emphasizing the camp’s commitment to teaching students authentic cooking methods. Each day, campers will prepare multiple dishes while learning kitchen fundamentals such as food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation. The cost of the camp includes all ingredients, kitchen supplies, and facility use, and students will get to enjoy the meals they prepare.
The camp offers two daily sessions, each running Monday through Friday. See the attached flyer for session and registration information.
