The Children’s Charity, Young Variety of Southern California held their 1st comedy fundraiser at Flappers on Tuesday night. The monthly mixers vary in types of events and are held in different cities throughout the Los Angeles area. All proceeds benefit disadvantaged kids who are dealing with HIV, low-income, homelessness, special needs, at-risk youth and more. Kelly Reynolds, former VP of YV So Cal and the only female comic in the line-up stated, “Our mixers are typically 21 and over but for volunteer events, we are open to all ages. We even have Junior Variety for very young kids to get involved. Please check us out on Facebook.” Variety is made up of three different groups: Variety, Young Variety (young professionals 21 – 40) and Jr. Variety (elementary and middle school ages).
There is an upcoming event just in time for the holidays called, “The Santa Walk” and anyone can participate. For more information, please visit www.varietysocal.org.
