On April 16th, The Mystic Museum had their grand opening for their new immersive art experience, 90s Slashers, featuring memorabilia and collectibles from the best horror movies of the 1990s. Part art show and part photo op, the exhibit pays homage to 90s slasher films and recreates iconic scenes from the film for guests to interact and take pictures and videos with.

Randall Michael Tobin's Random Acts of Breadness bakery is a hit amongst residents of Burbank and visitors to the city.

The Magnolia Park Merchants Association has added another Magnolia Park Night Out  event to the calendar this year, and it takes place Friday, November 26th from 6:00-9:00pm.  The event normally takes place on the last Friday of the month from January to October, but due to the cancellation of Holiday in the Park this year, the association voted to add one more night out in its place.

UMe Credit Union was voted Best Financial Institution in Burbank in myBurbank’s Best 2021 Contest. The contest was held the entire month of April and community members nominated their favorite Burbank businesses in over 160 categories. So what makes UMe the best and why are they different than all the others?

Magnolia Park Night Out received a strong turnout of visitors as it returned for the first time in 16 months on Friday, July 30.

Burbank’s favorite event is back! After a 16 month hiatus due to the pandemic, the Magnolia Park Merchants Association is relaunching their monthly Ladies and Gents Night Out Event, but with a new name. The association board changed the name to Magnolia Park Night Out last month to create a more inclusive feel and to let the community know that all are welcome at the event. The first monthly event will be held on Friday, July 30th from 6:00-9:00pm.

Over the past year during the stay at home order, Burbank saw an influx of businesses close. For rent signs popped up in store windows in major shopping areas but according to the City of Burbank’s Economic Development Department many stores and eateries have closed as a result from ongoing struggles before the pandemic even started. While others found that getting funding support and loans were not as easy to obtain.

Magnolia Blvd is known for its towering Ficus trees that line the sidewalks creating shade over the eclectic small businesses of the ever growing Magnolia Park. But in the past few years, neighbors and community members have been witnessing the removal of these 30 year old giants, questioning the reason for their recent disappearance.

The Morrison Burbank has built on the popular following of its Atwater Village location, bringing gastropub staples of burgers, beers and indulgent bar food...

Christmas in quarantine is not the ideal situation as we have all learned by now. Holiday gatherings are moving to Zoom and Google Meets this year while online shopping is becoming increasingly popular as it’s the safest and easiest way to shop in the time of Covid. While big retailers like Target and Amazon are making online shopping convenient, small businesses are suffering. Burbank’s mom and pop shops are doing what they can to entice their customers back to shopping small including moving to online sales.
