Superintendent Matt Hill confirmed that Burbank Unified will begin the school year on August 17 with 100% Distance Learning model, due to a recent spike in COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles County. More information will be discussed at the Board of Education meeting on Thursday, July 16.

John Burroughs High School Vocal Music students perform hits from the 80s online via the Twitch platform on Saturday, June 27. The JBHS VMA has developed their ShowChoir channel on Twitch as a live performance space. More shows are slated for the coming weeks.

With changes to the State budget, Burbank Unified now will not have to weather a drastic cut in funding, but federal advocacy is encouraged for the next stimulus package to help the schools safely reopen.
