Burroughs High's annual holiday show will wow audiences for two more performances this weekend featuring the school's lauded dance, instrumental music and vocal music programs.

Every year, the Vocal Music, Instrumental Music and Dance Departments join forces to present three shows of holiday cheer. Only a few reserved tickets for 2019's "Once Upon A Holiday Spectacular" remain.

Students presented the musical, written by fifth-grade teacher Melissa Pamperin, and discovered what happened to a large amount of pencils that had gone missing from the school.

The elementary school string orchestra performed at the 14th annual fundraising gala which honored Cusumano Real Estate Group, educator Angela Woo and music producer and Emmy-winner Rickey Minor. Notable presenters included Anthony Anderson and Debbie Allen.

Students learned about the training and education needed for different jobs and got to see a police car, a S.W.A.T. vehicle, a backhoe and trash truck up close, while trying out some karate moves and more.

Seniors at Burbank and John Burroughs High Schools were paired with local business, City and community leaders for an exchange of ideas and life experiences for the annual program Senior For A Day.
