Former faculty members from Jordan Junior High School (now Middle School) are making plans to place a plaque at the school in memory of Paul Williamson. The former principal died recently at the age of 92.
Plans call for a bronze plaque to be placed in the school’s cafeteria under a large mural painted several years ago, that contains a portrait of Mr. Williamson. The plaque will contain a likeness of the principal, and a poem that he wrote himself years ago when science teacher Dwight Bugh died unexpectedly.
The former teachers organizing the tribute to Mr. Williamson have tentative plans to dedicate the plaque on October 9, which would have been his 93rd birthday. They are currently conducting a fund-raising drive to help pay for the plaque.
In addition to former faculty members, Jordan alumni are being asked to contribute to the plaque. Donations by check made payable to the Paul Williamson Memorial Fund, can be mailed to Jon Olin, a former physical education teacher at Jordan. His address is 1022 E. Angeleno Ave., Burbank, CA 91501. Donors may also send checks directly to UMe Federal Credit Union, 3000 W. Magnolia Blvd., P.O. Box 7767, Burbank, CA 91505
