The Easter Bunny returned to McCambridge Park on Saturday after a year of hibernating due to budget cuts. Brought back after a vote of Burbank City Council Members 4-1, the event that is run by Burbank Parks, Recreation and Community Services, took place to the excitement of well over 1000 kids and their parents.
There was plenty for the kids to do, such as rub on tattoos, golf, jump houses, and pictures with the Easter Bunny, and a huge egg hunt on one of the baseball fields.
The Burbank PRC department quickly put the event together, prepping several thousand plastic eggs with goodies inside.
Parks Recreations and Community Services Department Director Judie Wilkie who was on hand handling the Masters of Ceremonies, greeted the throng of kids under clear skys, and was happy to see all the kids enjoying themselves.
Patricia Frost who’s 4 years old daughter Stella Frost Dose was having her picture taken with the Easter Bunny said ‘this is why we enjoy living here in Burbank, no other community does events like this’
The line for pictures of The Easter Bunny was endless, and the event which lasted just a short couple of hours, was starting to wind down, for another year, pending budget approval.
